DESISTÊNCIA DE CURSOS A DISTÂNCIA: É POSSÍVEL CONTROLAR OS FATORES INFLUENCIADORES?

Abstract


The attempt to democratize the access toeducation, the mode of education over distance hasrevealed a fact for investigation, the high rates of givingup. Thus, this work seek to investigate the factors whichinfluenced the desistance of students in two courses overdistance offered by the Center of Education over Distanceof the University of Brasília that, together, written up1,113 desistence. However, only 170 students respondedto the research. In the factorial analysis of the data, threefactors were identified with their respective alphas –planning and social support to the study ( α = 0,81),adaptation difficulties to the study over distance ( α =0,77); study conditions ( α = 0,90). Therefore, theinstrument possesses a good empirical structure andconstitutes itself into a quite useful tool for the research ofvariable kinds of behavior and attitudes of the quittingstudents.Index Terms ⎯ The Desistance in Education the Distance;Influencing Factors of the Evasion; The Student’sBehavior and attitudes in Relation to Courses throughDistance
