Abstract


Through the works of the artist Walmor Corrêa,the research intent to demonstrate the ability of utilize inseveral areas the illustration and his contributions in thefields of art and science. Combining academic drawingtechniques with the mythological universe of folklore, inCorrêa’s work the documental character of the observationdrawings opens to the fantastic and creative universe,breaking the present rigidity in the frontier of knowledge.There is a close relationship between the imaginary, thefictional, and fidelity to the reality proposed by science,considering discussions about the purpose of scientificillustration throughout history, as it emphasizes theinterdisciplinary and enriches the research, pointing newmore complex purposes.Keywords - Scientific Illustration; Walmor Corrêa; Realisticdrawing; Imaginary.
