Marco Aurélio Sanches Fittipaldi, Denis Donaire

Abstract

This article had as its main purpose to studywhat is a commercial electronic magazine as well as themain differences between the printed and the digital ones, and whether if it is possible to establish it as a new product,a differential product or a complementary product. For this,it was used multiple study cases with three weekly magazinesof major circulation: VEJA, ÉPOCA, and ISTOÉ. From thefounded data, it was possible to conceive that the magazineISTOÉ cannot be considered as a digital magazine, becauseit does not present media convergence, contrary to thoseother two publications, that were identified as digitalmagazines. In relation to the product’s classification, it wasascertained that VEJA and ÉPOCA are differential productswhich present differences that enhance them in comparisonto their competitors, as, for example, the presence of videos, which does not occur in ISTOÉ, with no other differential.Index Terms ⎯ diferencial product, digital magazines.
