A EDUCAÇÃO ESCOLAR E A FRUIÇÃO DA ARTE NA ERA DAS TECNOLOGIAS MIDIÃTICAS (SOCIEDADE DA INFORMAÇÃO)

Abstract

This work is a reflection on the relation betweenthe possibility of art fruition (the ability of an individual tomake use, to appropriate himself of the benefits of art andculture) and the access to contemporary media technologiesin a country with a peripheral culture such as Brazil. Inpresent-day’s societies, through new media technologies,people of all social classes are having access to art andculture with a facility and celerity that has never beenexperienced before. Thus, people are exposed to an immenseamount of information and, if they are not prepared, theyremain at the mercy of it, being manipulated. In a countrysuch as Brazil, a consistent and significant art educationwould provide the tools for the individuals to make use ofthis “flood†of information offered by the communicationmedia without being victimized by it.Index Terms ⎯ art, education, media technologie.
