Abstract

The geo refer to a contemporary theme, thedaily life of people through a number of applicationsavailable on the World Wide Web, recipient of the GlobalPositioning System (GPS), and even through satelliteimages. The emergence of geo-technology, remote sensingtechniques and the development of computer assistedcartography geographer allowed to work a set ofinformation increased. Daily, the information used by manyorganizations worldwide are geographically referenced. Thepurpose of this study is to conceptualize the geo and analyzehow these tools allied government policies can help societyto collect the information powering well as a technology ofdata acquisition of the land surface at a distance, and as animportant tool for the identification, monitoring and analysisof socioeconomic and environmental problems.Index Terms ⎯ Geo, Public Policy, Geographic Are,Cartographic Education.
