TECHNOLOGICAL TOOL FOR REMOTE TUTORIALS FOR ENGINEERING STUDENTS IN ELECTRONICS CLASSES

Abstract

This work in progress presents an on-lineproduct designed to create a remote tutorial system, onewhich implements the key functionalities of an academictutorial using an electronic format. The tool developedprovides students with several services, such as queriesbeing settled by tele-tutorial, the exchange of files, a bulletinboard system to help answer questions using figures, textsand writing in real time, or a chat room, among others. Thecurrent pilot phase is being conducted with the help of 2ndyearTelecommunications engineering students taking thesubject of Electronic Technology. The sampling will confirmthe tool’s suitability by means of two indicators: academicperformance and a satisfaction survey for both students andprofessors.Index Terms  ⎯ Remote tutorials, e-Learning, EngineeringEducation, Bologna Agreement.
