A EDUCAÇÃO MUSICAL NO PROCESSO DE DESENVOLVIMENTO DE BEBÊS: O PROJETO MÚSICA PARA BEBÊS/UFRGS

Abstract

This paper approaches an ongoing doctoralresearch of PPGEDU/UFRGS, connected to theGEMUS/CNPq group and financed by CAPES. Theobjective is to follow and analyze, by means of anethnographic, longitudinal study the process of whole andbrain development of a baby group from 0 to 24 months ofthe Project “Music for Babies.†This Project iscoordinated since 1999 by professor Esther Beyer,Department of Music of this institution. The reason for thisis being faced with questions related to the integraldevelopment of these babies and their intrinsic relation tomusic. We seek to identify the intrinsic process betweenbrain, mind and body since the whole development of thebabies is dependent on these factors. It is absolutelynecessary to verify musical exposure from an early age,allied to the cultural interference and how this contributestowards the integral development of the babies in theProject.Index Terms - Art, Musical education, child development,neuroscience
