Abstract

This paper discusses about project managementprinciples and its application in dance events organization,from the establishment of the overall project plan to thespecific managements, such as communications. Theplanning and implementation of the various aspects of theevent influence the quality of the service provided to thecustomers, a key aspect to stay competitive with other eventsthe same category. It is therefore essential and importantfactor for the customer satisfaction, the consequent positiveevaluation and interest in returning to the next event. It isnecessary to have awareness and analysis of scope thatproject management provides, selecting really the rightguidelines, at the correct moment and avoid unexpectedsurprises. These principles have been used to organize awell-known annual dance festival that takes place in SaoPaulo since 2000, which is used as a practical example casein this article.Index Terms ⎯ Project Management, Dance event,PMBOK.
