MÚSICA & MÍDIA: UMA EXPERIÊNCIA DE PRODUÇÃO SONORA COM ADOLESCENTES BRASILEIROS NA ESCOLA

Abstract

With the popularization of electronic devicesand digital resources, the dissemination and interchange ofsound/visual information through the Internet - especiallyamong the young public - has reached so far unimaginableproportion and velocity, and is changing even ourrelationships with music: we switch from simple listeners tomusic/sound producers. Following this reality, witnessed inthe everyday school context, and building upon theeducational potential of using these media integrated withthe school curriculum, the Music Education Area of CAp(Application School), in partnership with the LCM(Computer Music Lab), both from UFRGS - The FederalUniversity of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), has carried out theexperiment of a "Music and Media" class with secondaryeducation students. This paper brings up some thoughtsabout this experience and resulting educationalperspectives.Index Terms ⎯ Music education, music and newtechnologies.
