ABOUT THE SIGNATURE OF COLLECTIVELY PRODUCED WORKS: A WORLD WHICH STAYS IN SEARCH OF AUTHORS
Abstract
With regard to works which have beencollectively created and produced, it is becoming moreand more difficult – and particularly taboo – to identifythe contributions of the different protagonists who havebeen involved in the process of design. This happens eventhough, most often, the work in question still retains theimagery of an « author ». Architectural examples can betaken, but also films and design products. Suchattributions are thus maintained although the worksupposed the collaboration of various competencies andprofessions and had recourse to specified andsophisticated technologies. Whilst noting the persistenceof such a designation process, we intend to explore thetension that exists between this artistic dimension and thecollective reality of the production of works. Through thenotion of signature, we will explore a possible distinctionbetween creation –in an artistic sense- and process ofdesign, generally attributed to industrial production.Index terms – author, creation, design entrepreneurship, image, tendencies, work in process.
