A CONSTRUÇÃO DA IDENTIDADE URBANA: NOVOS EMPREENDIMENTOS RESIDENCIAIS NA BARRA DA TIJUCA, RIO DE JANEIRO
Abstract
This research was based on the premise that aspatial identity is constructed primarily in residentialenvironments. The reality of space is configured as theactual user’s perception and experience. Since the award ofthe 2016 Olympics to Rio de Janeiro and the definition of aurban project that has placed Barra da Tijuca in the centerof this great event, properties in THIS neighborhood haveexperienced an appreciation of about 20%. The urbanidentity that has been built had to be considered under thisboom of the real estate industry. The research has analyzedthe most recent 35 real estate launchings in theneighborhood of Barra da Tijuca. In order to assess theadequacy of these enterprises to the demands of thepopulation of Rio de Janeiro, 132 people from differentareas and social standards and with diversified profileswere interviewed.Index Terms ⎯ Rio de Janeiro, Barra da Tijuca, real stateindustry, urban identity.
