Abstract


This paper presents the magic activity as aspecial performance genre, with grate potential forassociation with social planned events, aimed for theproduction of entertainment in various sectors of humanactivities. For this purpose, the Performance Theory andEvent Studies, available in literature, were analyzed andenriched by the experience of one of the authors, who is aprofessional magician. It culminates with the development ofa theoretical and methodological framework, whose purposeis to be used for performances preparation, where the Magicis used as a tool of communication and also for theorganizational assessment of them, considering the differenttypes of interactions occurring in the contexts where theyare carried out and the meanings produced as sources ofsense that join fiction and reality, observed from differentperspectives of work production.Index Terms ⎯ Event Studies, Magic, OrganizationalAnalysis, Performance Genres.
