PARABOLOIDES HIPERBÓLICOS MÓVILES PARA EVENTOS MÚLTIPLES

Dino Otero, Fernando Luis Gache, Carlos Arceri

Abstract

We propose an innovative design speciallytargeted for use in public meetings that allows thedecoration of the exhibition premises. The hyperbolicparaboloid surface introduced by Gaudí and FelixCandela in architectural design has importantgeometrical and structural properties. One of the mostunique is the Restaurant the springs, Xochimilco, Mexico1957, made with the cross of four hyperbolicparaboloids. This structure supports two options forusing the covered space. But to take advantage of thesetwo possibilities is necessary to reverse the buildingstructure, which is virtually impossible. Here is a simplesolution based on characteristics of the surfaces to gofrom one option to another by simples spins of the fourhyperbolic paraboloids, without the need to invert thestructure. The simplicity of design allows the possibilityof using such diverse materials as concrete, sheet metalor simple canvas.Index Terms ⎯ Estructuras, Paraboloides, Diseño
