Abstract


The project Ver-o-Peso: interconnectionsbetween art, images and heritage born of the research groupContemporary Art in the Amazon: streams, networks andmappings belonging to the Universidade da Amazônia -UNAMA and aims to map and analyze the works and artisticactions performed in the complex of Ver-o-Peso, port area, asymbol of the city of Belém, located in the Brazilian Amazon,the end of the 1990s to the 2000s. The project aims at theformulation of critical thinking on art, education, city,property, the communication processes and relationshipsand socio-cultural negotiations that are established betweenthe artist and the users of this complex.Index Terms ⎯ Amazon, contemporary art, heritage,communication processes.
