EDUCAÇÃO ATRAVÉS DO CORDEL
Abstract
When one talks about education, especiallyprimary education, two characteristics are essential toassure the efficacy of the teaching. In the first place,information must be transmitted in a simple, direct way(short sentences enhance the learning process). Besides that,the presentation must be attractive: subjects are betterassimilated when they arouse the interest of the students. Inthis context, the poetic forms of the colportage literature(“folhetos de cordel”) fit perfectly well to didactic purposes.The metric patterns, the rhythm, the use of the rimes and thefact that it is meant to be recited in front of an audience oreven sung – all these features contribute to the fixation of thetopics under study. In this work, we present some braziliancolportage texts that deal with topics relevant in education,as environmental conscience, respect to differences, richnessof the folklore and the life of important researchers.Index Terms ⎯ colportage literature, cordel, education, arteducation.
