Abstract


Ergonomics is the science that studies theadaptation of tasks and work environment to thephysical, sensory, perceptual and mental of human beings.Based on ergonomics, it was conducted an anonymoussurvey at the service stations in a hospital sterilization room,where employees performed their tasks continuously andremained most of the time standing. The survey instrumentused was a form. The main objective of the research was tounderstand some descriptive variables employees andcompare their perceptions of the incidence of varioussymptoms in inferior members, superior members and spine,before and after the use of a semi-sitting bench. It wasperformed a statistical analysis of the collected data.Index Terms ⎯  ergonomics, standing work, statisticalanalysis, sterilization.
