Abstract

The developments in the technological,economical, social and cultural areas, shown in the word ofwork in the last decades brought about significant changesto the training and productive sectors. To insert andadvance in the labor market, workers need to develop skillsand proficiencies, that is, build the so-called socialknowledge. The Engineering, Society and Technologystudies program of CEFET-MG, through the incorporationof humanistic content in its professional training courses forconstruction workers, seeks to identify the contribution theycan provide to the development of the workers knowledge.Index Terms ⎯ Competence, human development, socialknowledge, vocational training.
