O USO DE BLENDED LEARNING NO ENSINO DE LINGUAGEM DE PROGRAMAÇÃO PARA ESTUDANTES DE ENGENHARIA

Abstract


This paper discusses the use of distanceeducation, more specifically blended learning, to teachProgramming Language for Engineering courses at theUniversity of Caxias do Sul. During the didactic-pedagogicseminar, concerning Distance Education in the second halfof 2007 was established the project of the course in theblended mode, and performed the first tests. In the first halfof 2009 the methodology has been effectively implementedin a regular class. The activities that are not face to faceaccounted 40% of the course. To support the courseactivities has been used several tools of the VirtualLearning Environment present in UCSvirtual: messageboard, schedule and directions, repository, course project,participants directory, instant messages, forum andWebfólio (repository of students projects).The results obtained were quite satisfactory, highlightingthe autonomy obtained by students in solving problems. Itwas also observed improvements regarding the rate ofapproval, failure and dropout.Index Terms ⎯ Teaching Programming, DistanceEducationa, Blended Learning.
