Abstract


The game industry, the number of players aswell as the possibilities presented by development platformsof entertainment elements has grown in recent years. Thepropose of using digital games in learning situations hasbeen considered and evaluated at different levels, ages,formats and contexts. However, one of opened questions ishow to work the educational elements of the game withoutmaking it monotonous and removing the characteristics ofentertainment. This work proposes the modeling of acomputational tool to aid the learning process in acontemporary scenario in which most students (fromdifferent levels of education) belong to the net generation,also called digital natives. This device is based on theintegration of digital storytelling and hyper-textualresources in a proposal of a Role-Playing Game for theacquisition of skills through playing. This allows thedevelopment of a significant and epistemic immersive digitalenvironment.Index Terms ⎯ serious games, RPG, epistemic games,digital narratives, hypertextuality.
