Abstract

Here is presented future topics for engineeringand engineering technology curricula. Socio-technicalsystem design is given with a general systems theoryperspective. Studied is the idea of socio-technical systemdesign from a General Systems Theory (GST) perspectiveand developing guidelines for the design process. Next aprism project fostering green energy industry training isdiscussed. Industrial demands for green energy for trainedand skilled engineers with technical skills and propertraining in these areas to fulfill the forecasted job growth inthese sectors is essential. The birth of the PRISM project isto present and provide the training opportunities in solarenergy fostering a green energy industry training center. Finally an implementation of sustainable construction basicsin a construction materials and methods course is covered. The LEED certification and training have attracted muchattention. Here a case of successful implementation of“green module†into a construction material course ispresented.
