LA IMPORTANCIA DE LA CUESTIÓN ONTOLÓGICA EN LA ENSEÑANZA DE LA INGENIERÍA: ¿QUÉ ES LA TECNOLOGÍA?

Abstract

At present the International AcademicCommunity is revising the impact of technology andengineering, placing in a critical position the classicalconception which considers technology as an appliedscience and engineering as a branch of knowledge whichuses technology to solve practical and concrete problems. Inthis context, new theoretical frameworks appear, offeringwider views which suggest high impact consequences in thedesign of syllabuses leading to a necessary and favourableintegration of the instrumental knowledge and its cultural,social and environmental impact. Fernando Broncano’swork, which is presented here, describes technology as thecapacity to create artificiality and his view is worthanalysing when training engineers in the present context.
