ENGENHARIA NO ENSINO MÉDIO

Abstract

This work describes an effort that is beingcarried out by the University of Uberaba, with support ofFINEP, National Fund for Technological and CientificDevelopment – FNDCT, in order to improve the interest onengineering and exact studies among high school students.Specifically for the case of computer engineering, the projectemphasizes the area of information technologies by means ofweb design and experiments in robotics s. On the otherhand, the goal of spreading the interest for engineering inschools located in the poor side of the city is being achievedwith this effort. An important social result is being obtainedby showing to the young people that becoming an engineeris possible and that there are many means for achieving thisgoal. An improvement in the self confidence of the youngpeople has been observed among the students, as a result ofshowing them that they are able of developing experimentscomparable to those presented by schools located in biggercities and developed countries.
