USO DE SHADERS COMO FERRAMENTA DE AUXÃLIO AO PROCESSAMENTO DE ALGORITMOS PARA ILUMINAÇÃO E EFEITOS VISUAIS

Abstract


This work presents the auxiliary graphicallibrary development that aims the illumination and effectalgorithms implementation using the OpenGL ShadingLanguage, directed to graphical processing into GraphicProcessor Unit (GPU), in contrast to other libraries thatimplement its instructions in the Central Processor Unit(CPU). With the processing of shaders into GPUs there is aperformance gain, once the graphic architecture cardsespecially is developed to work with the vectorial data. Thelibrary that is in development phase will help 3D graphicsprogrammers to create scenes with illumination and shade,normal vectors manipulation for visual effect as bumpmapping, apart from creation of reflexive surfaces using thealgorithm ray tracing. Also it will be possible shape surfacesre-covered with coats or wires of hair, whose reflection isanisotropic.
