Abstract

All of the current product development modelsemphasize the necessity of the learning process in projects, but none of them propose how to implement it. To improvethe learning capacity, by taking advantage of pastexperiences and lessons result in an increase of theefficiency and of the quality of the project. The graphicstructure of the “development funnel”, proposed byWheelwright and Clark, illustrates a situation in which theinitial phases of a project characterize themselves by thehigh degree of uncertainty and by the large quantity ofconceptual options. In this way, the results presented provethe necessity of learning support tools directed to projectspecialists to assist in the individual learning and in thetransfer of knowledge, and point to CBR as a methodologythat can be adequate for this purpose.
