ABORDAGEM PEDAGÓGICA DE DIFUSÃO DE CALOR EM ELEMENTOS DE CONCRETO ARMADO
Abstract
This article presents a pedagogic environmentfor calculating the distribution of heat in reinforced concreteelements under fire situation using the finite element method.Since the purpose of this study is primarily educational, hasbeen chosen to use free programs as tools for theirdevelopment, such as SCILAB, GMSH and OpenDX fornumerical computation, 3D finite element mesh generatorand IBM's scientific data viewer of results, respectively. Thebasic equation of heat was solved through the method offinite elements, so it is presented some numericalapplications. This work aims to use free internet programsin a simple and intuitive way, making the study of the spreadof heat accessible to students of civil engineering, givingthem the theoretical basis for understanding the newBrazilian standard for concrete structures under firesituations.
