MODELO ESTRUTURAL QUALITATIVO PARA O ENSINO DE ESTRUTURAS

Abstract

This study reports the experimental results toevaluate the behavior of a Qualitative Structural Model,called Maquete Estrutural, through comparison withcomputer simulation. The Model is a didactic/experimentalmaterial with the common objective of allows engineers andarchitect students to visualize and understand the differentstructural systems behavior from a qualitative view of thephysical phenomenon. The model is composed of amodulated element set that permits the assembly andsimulation of different structural systems that can beanalyzed of different structural concepts as structuralstability, visualization of displacements and deformations,behavior with different load cases and boundary conditions,the shape influence and also the construction process. Thiswork presents an alternative experimental methodology thatvalidated the model through comparing digital images. Theresults show that the model’s behavior it is really similar ofa real structural behavior.
