PROJETO ROBÓTICA EDUCACIONAL: UMA NOVA PERSPECTIVA PARA A AMAZÔNIA

Abstract

The project “Robótica Educacional” is a action
of GERAE (Applied and Educational Robotics Study Group)
from Pará Federal Institute of Technology (IFPA) with the
objective to create a new educational concept on the
Amazonic region, using the robotic platform, because it is a
multidisciplinary technology. The project consists on
undergraduate students of Control and Automation
Engineering, using robotics educational kits (Lego
Mindstorms NXT 2.0) spread this technology and the
engineering education to the general community, making
lectures and workshops, and inside them, proposing
challenges and problems to be resolved, and the
participating people have to design the best solutions and
implement them, thus improving teamwork and creativity,
beyond the capabilities of contextualizing mathematics and
physics. In other words, on this project robotics is used as a
learning platform that encourages engineering career.
