A survey of Energy Technology literacy level for senior high school students in Taiwan

Abstract


This study results was the first stage of threeyearresearch project that supported by National ScienceCouncil of Taiwan. The main purpose was to explore theliteracy of energy science level for senior high schoolstudent in Taiwan. In order to accomplish the purpose, aself-development instrument was constructed so that thesurvey process can be followed, and the data was collected.A sample of 2372 students from senior high school inTaiwan was randomly selected. After the process of dataanalysis, the results were obtained:1. Boys in technology knowledge, application, andresources performed better than girls.2. Variety areas of high school in technology attitudewere different significantly.3. Students who read books, newspaper, magazines, andextracurricular readings with diverse time in energytechnology literacy were different significantly.4. Students who take live technology course every weekin technology knowledge, application, and resourceswere differently significantly.
