O PROGRAMA DE PÓS-GRADUAÇÃO EM ENGENHARIA MECÂNICA DA UFPB: EVOLUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO E DESENVOLVIMENTO REGIONAL

Abstract

The Graduate Program in MechanicalEngineering is one of five programs of the Graduate ofTechnology Center Federal University of Paraiba, that hasessential purposes the accomplishment of teaching activitiesof Master's degree and of Doctorate, based and appliedresearch, development and delivery of services to society ingeneral. This paper presents the historical evolution of theGraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering UFPB ofcreation until the present day, focusing on its importanceand participation in researchers' formation and academicalteachers to universities and educational institutes in thenortheast region. The work still shows, origin and insertionof graduates from different academic institutions andscientific and intellectual production originating from theirtheses and dissertations produced from its origins to thepresent day.Index Terms ⎯ Historical Evolution, MechanicalEngineering, Northeast Region.
