Abstract

This article presents a doctoral research project that aims to facilitate user interaction with the interface e-learning systems. The interface e-learning systems in this project will be adapted according to the preferences of the users. An ontology modeling of these system interfaces will be used in order to broaden the specifications of the user’s cultural profile. The project involves a semiotic study of culture of the users and their representation in the interface design. To specify the user interface elements such as menus, toolbars and navigation elements we made use of ontology. In developing this modeling of semiotic elements of the culture of users on the interface of e-learning system we used OWL-DL through the Protégé tool.
