O DISCURSO DA HISTÓRIA EM “O CÃO SEM PLUMAS†DE JOÃO CABRAL DE MELO NETO: VALORES POSITIVOS E NEGATIVOS

Abstract

This artic thesis lies in the field of Discourse Analysis.Its theme is the cultural identity of the people from the BrazilianState of Pernambuco, which is examined through linguisticexpressions found in João Cabral de Melo Neto’s poetic language. Itrelies on the theoretical presuppositions of the Critical DiscourseAnalysis, with a socio-cognitive approach, the main representativeof which is Teun van Dijk. The corpus reviewed is composed ofselected texts of Brazilian History, about the colonial period and thetime the poem was constructed. The methodological procedureadopted is to scan the linguistic expressions in each text produced bythose different discourses for positive and negative inter- andintragroup values.Keywords - Heuristic reading, hermeneutic reading, intertextuality,interdiscursivity
