MÚSICA E RECEPÇÃO: POR UM PARADIGMA ESTÉTICO

Pedro Carneiro

Abstract

The strength of the tradition on musicologicalanalytical orientation lies on the defense for a rationalunderstanding of music, on the assumption that a true andobjective understanding of music is made possible only bymeans of accurate and very well defined methods andprocedures and any parameter of subjective nature rejectedon behalf of objectivity. However, contemporary poetics, inparticular the electroacoustic music, raises a number ofnew inquiries, in which the camouflage of subjectiveparameters can be questioned. By attaining the thought ofJohn Dewey, Luigi Pareyson and Gilles Deleuze, therewith,it is intended to develop the idea that new technologies, byallowing a moment of parity between production andreception, emerge from the aesthetic dimension involved inthe process, under which the thinking about musicalcomposition by the listener’s view, that is a parameterof subjective nature, becomes fundamental.Index Terms ⎯ music, composition, aesthetics, reception.
