BIENAL INTERNACIONAL DE SÃO PAULO E BIENAL DE VENEZA: EXPERIÊNCIA ESTÉTICA E DIÃLOGOS COM A HISTÓRIA DA ARTE
Abstract
This paper intends to share reflections stemming from experiences with the 29th International Biennial of Sao Paulo (2010) with the theme: "There is always a cup of sea to the surfing man" and the 54th Venice Biennale (2011), on "Illuminations". The two exhibitions and curatorial proposals had different characters: the first focused on the political and social matters as an extended field, while in the second, we explored the idea of light as an essential element in the visual arts and as a metaphor for inventiveness. However, it is possible to plot points in common: in addition to showing how proposals for involving the public, fertile fields for the aesthetic experience, in both exhibitions were presented that related work in a sensitive, thought-provoking with Art History. For this study, and authors of Aesthetics, History and Art Criticism, we adopted a phenomenological authors, among them: Dewey (1980), Maffesoli (1998) and Quintás (1993).
