O REAL E A FICÇÃO NA FOTOGRAFIA: UM ESTUDO SOBRE AS CINEMATOGRAFIAS DE JEFF WALL

Abstract

This paper does an analysis of Jeff Wall’scinematographies, relating them with important issues thathave been discussed trough the history of photography. Withthat analysis, it could be observed that this contemporaryartist has an essential importance in the consolidation ofphotography as a form of art. His interventionist work flowsnaturally between truth and fiction, allying harmonicallytraditional and experimental characteristics in the samework of art. The analysis led to the understanding that,dialoguing directly with realism in photography, Wall endsup breaking the limits between truth and fiction in apreviously unimaginable way.Index Terms ⎯ ficção, fotografia artística, Jeff Wall, real.
