Abstract

Educational models based on constructivisttheories envision the student as constructor of knowledgeitself through proactive in finding content and experiencesoutside the classroom environment. In recent yearstechnological developments have impacted on teaching andlearning of electrical engineering. The revolution ininformation associated with the Web has systematicallyinnovating the educational process through distancelearning. In this scenario, we highlight the use of computerapplications that enable control of remote labs. The use ofvirtual environments in classroom laboratory practiceencourages students to not only the flexibility of time, butespecially the ability to gradually build their knowledgebased on experiments directly related to the practice ofelectrical engineering. The paper presents preliminaryresults obtained with the use of a Remote Laboratory, withina constructivist approach to engineering education in thearea of Power Quality and Control.Index Terms – E-learning, Remote Laboratories, Sharing.
