Abstract

Epidemiology provides different ways to knowwhen, for a geographic region, a specific disease is endemicor epidemic. However, in the scientific literature could notbe found a methodology for characterization of subregionsof a geographic region as epidemic or endemic ones. Thisspatial characterization is useful for decision making bymanagers about emergency policies for specific locations.Different providences should be taken for locations underdisease surge in relation to other under disease epidemic. Itcan provide cost savings, and unnecessary travel plan. Thisknowledge, combined with other information specific to eachlocality, also allow managers to understand their individualepidemiological characteristics for prioritization of differentarrangements. In this paper is proposed a new methodologyfor mapping information from data of non-parametricQuality Control Charts to visualization of endemic controlin the several subregions of a geographic region.Index Terms ⎯ Epidemiology, Quality Control Charts,Spatial Distribuition, Choropleth Maps.
