Abstract

 This paper presents a low cost modular home automation system, which each module uses a Bluetooth transceiver to connect with user mobile phone. These modules have the capacity of executing tasks on user command via cell phone, or on predetermined situations, like light or temperature changes. These situations can be programmed by the user via the mobile phone, this capability allow the system to make the house more “smart”, bringing more comfort or saving electrical power. The modules itself are projected to work independently on each other, being controlled directly by the mobile phone via Bluetooth, do not depending on a central module, reducing the risk of failure.
