DOSIMETRIA DE CAMPO MAGNÉTICO NA BIBLIOTECA CENTRAL DA FUNDAÇÃO UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE RONDÔNIA - UNIR

Abstract

This research presents the development andapplication of a methodology to perform dosimetry levels ofmagnetic fields at 60 Hz power frequency in the CentralLibrary Roberto Pires Duarte, located on campus JoséRibeiro Filho, Federal University of Rondônia Foundation,the city of Porto Velho, capital of the state of Rondônia. Allequipment used to perform the dosimetry field is describedin the main project. The levels of magnetic field are analyzedand compared with the maximum allowable limits for humanexposure established by international and nationalstandards (ABNT) and adopted by WHO since the highintensity magnetic fields can induce currents that can gothrough the human body, causing in some cases, discomfortor stimulation of nerves and muscles. And for cases wheresuch levels exceed the preset limits, measures to mitigate themagnetic field should be adopted.
