Abstract

In the present time, companies looking greaterconfiability and quality in their products because of thegreat competition of the market. Also, the lower cost of thewarranty and the possibility of the extension of this is alarge market differential and can be obtained realizingconfiability studies about the systems and equipments. Thiswork brings together basic concepts of confiability, based inprobabilistic data, presenting the observations andstatistical studies that have been more used, analyzing thedata and from this analysis, relations between time until thefailure, estimates of confiability, rate of failure, distributionsof survival and failure, and others. So, a concept ofconfiability is the “probability of a system or item playsatisfactorily the required function, under conditions ofoperations established, for an established period of predeterminedtime” Lewis (1996).Index Terms ⎯ Probability, Confiability, Statistical Models,Time to Failure.
