LAS PRÁCTICAS PROFESIONALES EN LA CARRERA DE INGENIERÍA QUÍMICA

Abstract

With the recent accreditation process ofengineering careers at the national level in the year 2003, asupervised professional practice (PPS) in a productive orservice was implemented in the last two semesters promotinggraduates to be in contact with their future professionalfields. The present study communicates results obtained overthe past 5 years on the difficulties of implementing thispractice for the particular case of Chemical Engineering(UNLP Argentine). Two conditions were fulfilled: i) thecommitment made by the institution itself (and the Careerdirection) to ensure that all the students of the last year ofthe Career could complete the PPS and ii) the response ofthe companies which give the possibility that a student canjoin any sector, with the assignment of a tutor to developdifferent activities related to the career. At the present time,our students have carried out more than 50 professionalpractices.Keywords - accreditation, chemical engineering, professionalpractices.
