The Basic Cycle of Engineering is the first cyclewithin the curricular structure of undergraduate engineeringand focuses the disciplines that are common to allqualifications. Some students join in the variousqualifications of engineering courses without the knowledgeor the certainty of the course chosen. Accordingly to that, itis important to provide an option that prevents the decisionto be misleading. The challenge of creating a basic cyclewithin a curriculum structure, that allows the new studentsreceive broad scientific training in addition to stimulatetaste of student development projects focused ontechnological innovation, must be carefully designed toprovide a solid foundation of knowledge that is essential tothe training of future engineers.Index Terms ⎯ First cycle of engineering courses, ommondisciplines in engineering, unified curriculum structure, engineering courses.
