AVALIAÇÃO DA QUALIDADE DO SERVIÇO EM UNIDADES DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA: UM ESTUDO DE CASO SOBRE CARGA DE TRABALHO DE ENFERMAGEM

Abstract


A study was conducted to assess the quality of hospital services in Brazil with a sample of patients from hospital clinics in the city of São Paulo, Brazil treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). In this study it has been considered patients hospitalized due to various types of diseases. Several statistical techniques were considered to analyze the data for a measure of hospital care recently introduced in the literature called NAS (Nursing Activities Score). This measure is an instrument for measuring nursing workload in the ICU. The analysis of such data permits an assessment of hospital service related to different factors and also for the construction of control charts hospital. These results are of great interest to administrators of health care and the general population.
