Abstract


Nowadays, Mexico is adopting policies ofeconomic development based of technological innovation.Despite government efforts to implement these policies,productive regions and companies have not achieveddevelopment and competitiveness. No just economicalresources, creation of new systems and strategies wheregovernment, companies and universities take part, arenecessary to build technological innovation. Along thisarticle, creation of SPIN-OFF companies integrated tointer-institutional networks as mechanism to establishrelations between universities and companies, are proposedto positively hit economy of productive regions throughtechnological development. The experience of a SPIN OFFcompany which belongs to RED ALFA(Formed by 3universities and 1 company) in the south of Sonora , andthe creation of technological innovation centers inUniversidad Tecnológica del Sur de Sonora(UTS), areexposed on this article.Index Terms ⎯ Innovation, inter-institutional networks,SPIN-OFF companies.
