MODELO PARA OBTENER EL PERFIL COGNITIVO DEL ESTUDIANTE DE INGENIERIA BASADO EN LOGICA DIFUSA

Abstract


The learners´ knowledge is constantly changingduring the learning process and therefore not easy to becertain about their cognitive abilities at a given time.Consequently, the capture of the student´s knowledge level(dynamic and multi-valued) requires specific procedures.Teachers use several methods to obtain the student´scognitive diagnosis. Fuzzy logic techniques have been usedto improve the performance of evaluation systems due totheir ability to handle imprecise information. A method thatincludes fuzzy logic procedures is presented. Theinformation analyzed has been obtained from regularcourses of engineering specialties at UNMDP. Threelinguistic variables are analyzed: ‘student´s gradesprogression’, ‘tests result level’ and ‘mark in relation tomean group mark’. A ‘knowledge level’ value is obtainedapplying fuzzy logic rules to previously mentioned variables.Index Terms ⎯ engineering student, fuzzy logic, knowledgeprofile.
