HENDHUGH.XLA: UN AUXILIAR PEDAGÓGICO PARA LA SÍNTESIS DE TRENES DE COLUMNAS DE DESTILACIÓN

Abstract

HendHugh.xla, an Add-In for Excel, has beendeveloped as pedagogical assistant for teaching thesynthesis of distillation columns sequences using DynamicProgramming (Hendry and Hughes method). The work iscarried out in two stages: in the first, the optimal design ofeach columns required by the method, generated by thecomplement, is carried out.To do this, the add-in has ashortcut method of design (FUG) besides a properties andeconomic databases. In the following stage the optimalstructure is determined, working on a complete network thatcontains all of the possible sequences.Index Terms   ⎯ teaching, distillation columns sequences,optimal design, dynamic programming.
