BIOINFORMÁTICA ESTRUTURAL: CONCEITOS E APLICAÇÕES

Abstract

Bioinformatics is a relatively new area andcovers many knowledge frontiers, especially Biology andComputer Science. There are an extensive specializedbioinformatics publications but there is a gap for anintroductory text for those who are taking his first steps inthis multidisciplinary area. In this sense, this paper aims tointroduce bioinformatics basic concepts and three basiccomputational tools - BioJava, BioPerl and GenBank.Keywords - Bioinformatics, BioJava, BioPerl,Genbank.
