Abstract


The wireless sensor networks usually consist ofsmall modules that have a small processing power, storageand transmission of information. Such networks are used tocapture data and send them via a wireless interface to thecentral node, or performing the routing between the terminalnodes to a central node. In this paper, we present a wirelesssensor network using star topology for monitoringinaccessible environments. Each network node consists of amicrocontroller, a temperature sensor and an XBee Pro fordata transmission using the IEEE 802.15.4 (ZigBee) andfeatures END DEVICE. The central node was developedusing a microcomputer module and a USB-COM-BEE andan XBee Pro configured as a coordinator. Tests inrecognition of new modules on the network and dataacquisition were performed using software developed in C /C + +.Index Terms ⎯ estrela, linguagem C/C++, rede sem fio,ZigBee.
