MULHERES, SUCESSO E CARREIRA EM TECNOLOGIA: É POSSÍVEL?

Abstract

Since little boys and girls are often taught todivide the world between male and female areas. The resultis that, years later, some sectors are dominated by men andwomen. One area that shows most of this phenomenon is thearea of technology, in which the female presence is scarce.To compete on equal terms with men, women need, oftengoing out late work hours, work more weekends, dodge thepressures placed (husband, children, family, home care,jokes and harassment from colleagues, boycott of his work,etc.). Who overcomes all this, is valued precisely because ofthat has feminine characteristics: sensitivity, teamwork,emotional quotient, etc. Although small, there is apercentage of women in technology that overcomes theobstacles and does very well.Index Terms ⎯ Women, men, leardership, science,profession.
