ADVANCED TRAINING OF UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS IN COMPUTER SIMULATION OF ENERGY AND RESOURCE SAVING CHEMICAL ENGINEERING SYSTEMS

Nadir N. Ziyatdinov

Abstract

Chemical engineers competitiveness ininternational labor market depends on different factors, including fundamental knowledge and software skills.Automated simulation of chemical engineering unitoperations provides shorter terms of technologyimplementation. The Faculty of Advanced Training forUniversity Professors of the Institute of AdditionalProfessional Education of Kazan State TechnologicalUniversity has developed and implemented a 72 houradvanced training program for chemical engineeringdepartment faculty. Its objective is to introducemathematical software application packages, special andgeneral purpose simulators, which will provide newrequirements to students’ term and graduate papers which,in the long run, will improve their quality. The programintroduces system analysis of chemical engineering unitoperations as basic methodology for research anddevelopment of optimal energy and resource saving systems.A system approach is used for mathematical formalization ofproblems at different levels of chemical engineering systemshierarchy and potential of modern software for solving theseproblems.Index Terms ⎯ computer simulation, software packages, university professors.
