INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING PROGRAMS FOR WORLD GLOBALIZATION

Abstract

Since the 1990’s, there has been an increasedinterest in the development of engineering curricula toinclude exposure of students to engineering education inother countries. The purpose for these programs is to exposethe students, and professors teaching engineering, to theaspects of globalization which may affect the careers ofthese future engineers. The author of this presentation hasbeen involved in developing and managing these programsat his university since 1996, and the scope of his involvementhas presently a global reach over several continents.Index Terms  ⎯ Globalization of engineering education,international exchanges in engineering, design, researchand development, sustainability.
